RIAs are cheap - Springfields are reasonable - What are your plans?

You can pick up an RIA in the low $400s. I haven't really seen anything really for less than that.

better to just pony up and get what you really want. i was looking at Springfield, Colt, and Kimber lower level 1911's. Found out that you'll end up spending alot of dough getting them to be as reliable as you'd wish. that being said you can get a Springfield GI .45 for under $550 if you look.

Oh you'll get use to them alright - I love them -

I see some Colts in the FS for a not too bad price - Somewhere around the 650-750 range - You can shoot those and when time to sell they'll retain their value quite well -

Shop around for some used ones -

If you have some way to get one out of state you could get one of these .Metro Arms 1911 Government DLX model. I like mine very much ,almost an equal to my Kimber.its under $480.

Don't take too long. It wasn't even a couple years ago when GI model was low $400s, Milspec was high $400/low $500 and a RIA was under $400.

It's just gonna get more and more expensive.

Another vote for a RIA GI or tactical if you can find one. Reliable, accurate, and very affordable. You can't go wrong with em at that price point.

I bought my SA MilSpec for around $500 - good to start as a project 1911.
