    1911 Magazines too snug

Just got my TRP hardchromed and the magazines wont fall out on their own after hitting the release. Im guessing maybe the tolerance was so tight that this finish is just above the threshold where mags get caught upon release. Can't remember if this was an issue before the work was done but im wondering if theres anything i can do to get these mags to fall out easier.

Also check that the grip screws are not overly tight and protruding into the well touching the mags

          Who did the hard chrome?

okay i can feel that the screws are not flush within the well by touch. Just a hair protruding on both upper screws maybe half .25-.50mm. What sucks is they said they had to charge me $24 to replace the factory ones because they were ripped out due to being loctite in. Im sure i couldve replaced them myself for cheaper but i didnt take a second to think about that over the phone. Now you would think after paying $65 on top of that for reassembly they would get this right... smh

So guys, basically this isn't that hard of a fix right? Just grip the screw holders and pull them out until flush? And if they used loctite then what?

I don't want to put them on blast nor can I advertise for their business just yet until i get things figured out. But i will say the finish came out great, its just their care on reassembly was rushed/sloppy for not catching this before shipping it out.

Are you talking about the grip screws or grip screw bushings? The screws are easy; the bushings can be a bugger if they were properly staked in. I suggest buying the bushing removal tool from Brownell's if you are going to do them yourself.

Before you spend any serious money, try spraying the Magazines with Dry Lube.

If it is the grip screw bushing that is sticking out, they need to be ground or filed flush with the inside of the frame.
The bushings are threaded into the frame, pulling on them won't do much.
It is common for the bushings to be thread-locked in place, not the grip screws.
The bushings often get destroyed on removal.

i dont think lube will help, i already notice a streak that got marked up by the bushings.

It sounds like they forgot to stake them which sets them flush. Either send it back or buy a stake setting tool.
