    Python Price!

Saw this on Turner's website and about fell out of my chair:

Whoever consigned it is smoking something.

    YIKES!

What good is it if you can't shoot it???

People with deep pockets and too much money buy these.

Collecting guns is an expensive disease.

I have one you can shoot, with same finish and all. The only thing is I'm missing the box, and it's been shot. I'll sell it to you for half the price.

The inconvenience of poor quality lingers long after the thrill of a good bargain.

The price is a bit much, however if I was the seller,I would be very concerned about Turners having the gun in their possession while waiting for it to
            sell.

I've already got a 6" nickel 2nd generation Python so I don't need another, and yes I know you're being sarcastic.

Such a waste to have such a fine gun and not enjoy it.

I think it was a Python that was listed for $10K. It's gone now. There is also a Winchester 66 listed for $10K.

Perhaps they took the ad down because the price was a mistake?

Even with today's crazy Python pricing, $10K is absurd for an off-the-rack example.

Absurd, yes; OTOH some people are paying $200 for jeans, and over a grand for basketball shoes.

I'm glad I only paid about $600 for my Python back in the 80's.

Stainless Pythons were the only model I handled with poor fit and finish. Perhaps that was due to Colt's late 70's union issues or the newness of dealing with stainless, especially the internals. Still, I don't know how common or uncommon a stainless bright Colt Python is. My only Python is an 8" nickel Target model in 38 Special and as was pointed out to me when I bought the thing "who wants a Python in 38 Special …?" Pretty much no one at the time.

IF GB is any indication the 6" stainless gets an "asking price" of about $2,800.00 to $4,500.00 - all with no bids though.
