    Reassembling a G29?

Yes I know, it requires the IQ of an ant to put a Glock together. Apparently an ant is smarter than me.

Two things happen when I reassemble the gun from field strip condition: The guide rod gets hung up and will stick out in front or the entire slide assembly won't seat onto the frame to engage the take down tabs. The first one I just reseat the rod in the barrel cam link. The other one... I have no idea what is causing it. I just keep fudging with it until it engages the tabs.

I haven't had a Glock since a G-22 I had back in the mid 90s and I don't recall having this much trouble reassembling it.

There is something I am not doing consistently and I am hoping one of you sub compact Glock users can enlighten me. TIA.

Make sure the spring and guide rod are seated all the way down in the barrel.

When it happened to me, I pushed the firing pin plunger in, and that worked for me.

It should a be pretty straight forward process. Is it a G29 with everything factory stock? Some good pictures would be very helpful.

Make sure that the top of the slide is in the palm of your hand or on the table.
First, Barrel goes in. Then, the recoil assembly goes on top. Be sure it is completely seated, centered, and parallel on the barrel groove.

Next, make sure that the frame does not have a magazine in it. Make sure that the trigger is not reset. The trigger should be squeezed back. Then, grab your slide and be sure that you line up the rails and the slide grooves and pull the slide all the way back. Rack the slide three times and you should be good to go.
