Early this year, I bought a LNIB 2005 Sig P229R DAK in .40 S&W on consignment. I prefer to shoot 357 Sig in the pistol with an extra barrel I purchased from Sig Sauer. I have other Sig pistols which are DA/SA.
Although I've found the DAK trigger to be a bit challenging, I like shooting it. DAK has two reset points. The first (short) reset point gives about an 8.5# pull, whereas the second (long) reset gives about a 6.5# smooth and easy pull. Kellerman (an engineer at Sig Sauer) did not intend for the shooter to routinely use the short reset, instead he intended that it be shot as a long stroke DAO. He provided the short reset to prevent the shooter from "short stroking" when firing under stress.
I've gotten more use to the DAK with each time I've taken it to the range, about 5 or 6 times this year. The targets below were shot earlier today. The first target was shot with the second magazine of the day when I was fresh. I'm a firm believer that one's best groups of the day will be shot during the first 50 rounds of he session.
So, what do you guys with experience with DAK think about the trigger system?
