SA Mil Spec vs Loaded?

If you were in the market for a 1911 and eventually had plans to customize it slightly, would you go for the loaded or the milspec. By customize it, i mean add a bar-sto barrel, feed ramp polishing (reliability type stuff) possibly rust blue, and or a small engraving in the long run and some better internals. Is the loaded any better made than the mil-spec or just the added price is the features (NM barrel, novak sights, ambi safety)

If you got the Loaded you wouldn't need to "customize" as you mentioned and just engrave it.

Get the Loaded, you won't be paying to have a beaver tail fit from scratch. I wish I would have bought a Loaded.

Just get the loaded. You will be glad you did. It’s a great pistol right out of the box. That way, you can spend more on the engraving and less on the parts, reliability, and feed ramp polishing, etc.

Another vote for Loaded. I have a Loaded and Loaded Operator with full rail. Love them!!

Hands down, the Loaded model. So many upgrades for not that high of a price increase. The only thing I would change is the guide rod, I hate those hex key ones.

The Loaded version is 'most of the way there' for most shooters. You can do what you want/need to a Loaded and be money ahead.

However, if you wanted a full-house custom build, the Mil-Spec is a good starting point since you will be replacing just about everything except frame and slide.

Cifaldi...out of ignorance I ask this question...so be gentle. Mine has close to 10k thru it...not one single issue or ftf etc. The text above implys my barrel in not correctly fitted...

Please explain the comment. As a Wilson owner...I get the hand fit part...but in a Loaded...what is properly fitted?

Mil spec; then spend the money you were going to outlay on the loaded version for ammo.

I must admit...I am not sure that the fine tuning you are refering to would make me ( I am of the opinion, right or wrong, that the shooter has alot to do with accuracy) more accurate. I am prone to call mine a tack driver and have found it accurate as I am...meaning my capabilities are what they are...
