    Cz75 B upgrades?

    Hey guys,

Just picked up a brand new CZ 75 B and am quite excited to have one. Are there any upgrades that are recommended I do to it? I was thinking of getting a metal guide rod to start and put a lanyard loop spring housing but was wondering the consensus.

Just get a lighter hammer spring and maybe upgrade the trigger, sear and hammer.

Be careful who you ask. Some of us have a problem with CZs.

I always replace the trigger, and usually hammer and sights.

Depending on what you want to do with it, CGW and CZC have a lot of really neat upgrades that make it a super nice shooter, but it can get expensive if you want to go crazy on it. A lot of people change grips, etc. There's also an okay CZ forum out there with lots of pictures of people's builds, though I think there's a lot more activity here than there.

But if you want to really blow money on it, the upgrade packages from CGW are pretty easy sets of "everything you need" to upgrade it. If you want to go incrementally, I'd suggest upgrading the outside stuff first, then moving inwards to springs, sears, firing pin, bushing.

And for basic 75b upgrades: extended slide release, extended mag release, maybe a different safety if you don't like the geometry.

How much do you want to spend? Aight upgrades are the only must have followed by a race hammer respectively. After that it's all gravy

75B needs nothing but ammo, After 500 to 1k rounds have gone through it you won't have to ask about "upgrades". You'll know what it "needs".

During this same period you'll notice the trigger getting better and the slide runs like it's on ball bearings.

The only thing I did to mine was put on better grips and pull out the mag drop retention spring.

I'm so sorry. You've gone down a very slippery slope, my friend.

I've only changed the grips and the sights. Everything else works just fine.

As FeuerFrei stated, shoot the crap out of it before you change anything. Most CZ 75 variants really benefit from a thorough break in. This can be also be achieved through dryfire for the most part. For high volume dryfire it is advisable to use a snap cap, O-ring or catch the hammer with your thumb. In the absence of a buffer, high volume dryfire can cause cumulative damage to the Firing Pin Retaining Pin located towards the rear, on the side of the slide.

I've read and heard that the metal guide rod really doesn't do much for the gun. Best to upgrade the grips to the rubber ones from a SP-01. Change out the front and rear sights. Consider changing out a few springs to lighten up the trigger pull and while you are at it, do a light polishing. One of the biggest improvements is changing out the hammer. Cajun Gun Works or CZ Customs have lots of great parts. Have fun with it.

Oh, a CZ 75B upgrade would be to buy a CZ 75 SP-01. Then you can upgrade again to a Shadow 2

Only mods I made to mine were wood grips. Several years later I added a Kadet 22lr Conversion.

I went with the factory custom shop coco bolos and replaced the ridiculous philips head screws with flat screws from Hogue.

I've shot a 97B with a Cajun Gun Works "E" package. That is the main upgrade I'll be doing to my 97B, once I recover from the .308 AR I just built.
