Hi All,
So I recently got my Springfield TRP full rail from Riflegear and was overly excited. Got home that night and stripped and cleaned the gun. While cleaning I decided to check out how the night sights looked compared to my USP and boom, front sight post is dead. Then, I went to turn the light back on and... what do I see?? The rear sight is canted to the left. Probably around 3-5 degrees off center.
I know some of you might say I’m dumb for not noticing it in store but I’ll get to that.
Further cleaning revealed that the barrel lugs had some gouges on them, similar to this video on YouTube.
I made the decision that my TRP was going back to SA for warranty work long ago so I was going to make sure it functioned right. 200 rounds flawless but I couldn’t group worth a damn. Took it down again for a cleaning before sending it in and that’s when I noticed the rear sight was wiggling a fairly good amount, 3-5 degrees to left and back to center. It explains why I might have missed it in store.
Regardless of the issues the TRP was a great example of the reputation people have for it. Great fit and finish, flawless function, and whenever the sight was binding to one side I was able to put multiple rounds in the same hole... just not at POA lol.
I called SA and within seconds (literally while I was on the phone) had a shipping label in my email. Looks like they just received the pistol this morning. Anyone with warranty experience know if I should be expecting an email as to when my package is opened/when they start working on it?
For the record, I spoke with Heather and she was very polite and professional. Looking forward to getting my TRP back and seeing what it’s truly capable of!!
