    Cz decocker problem

So i was looking at this cool CZ at the gunshop and all the coolness went away when I futzed with the safety/what I thought was a decocker.
I put it in single action mode and then attempted to return it to double action mode using the safety...
Why the heck is there a safety for cocked and locked mode, but no decocker?

Research the model in relation to the roster.

The SA/DA of the 75 is one of the features that made it so desirable and most cloned. Hard to believe in todays technological context.

It gave users a choice between cocked and locked or double action. Before the CZ75, pistols were limited to either SA, DA/SA (the action with the decocker), or DAO. Of course other manufactures like H&K made some other interesting actions but those guns weren't commonly available/accessible, Neither was the CZ75, but that's a whole other story.

DA Revolvers were also extremely common then; decocking with the hammer was just a common skill set. Most people's mamas could decock a revolver.

        ^^Well put.

OP, CZ pistols are available with decocking levers on some models. No safety with decockers though, it is one or the other.

Just hold the hammer back, press the trigger, and ease the hammer down. Put your thumb in front of the hammer if you're nervous about it. It's not difficult. Just ask anyone who uses an SP-01 in USPA Production.

My P-09 came with the decocker installed and the safety in the box if you prefer to run it instead.

My biggest problem with my CZ40P .40 S&W Decocker Police Pistol was
if you did decock it every time at the range or class you ended up with a pea sized callus on the side of your thumb.

If you didn't decock it you had a loaded gun with no safety on, in the holster.

Also there was no cocked and locked function. You got full DA trigger pull everytime you drew the gun. This hampered first round hits alot.

Glock solved this problem for me.

I have 2 CZ 82's which are SA/DA guns like a CZ75 is. I can run them just fine and tend to run them Cocked and Locked as opposed to DA first shot.

As far as I know only the HK USP has a safety and decocker on one.

Decockers get old really fast. As fast as DAO pistols IMO.

We do realize that the CZ's come with firing pin blocks? Trigger movement required to move bloc out of the way.

                  SA/DA CZ's:
Cocked and locked is good, but slower to get into action.
Half cocked is best and very safe.
