Well that is a beauty and I'm not even the biggest Colt revolver fan.

I've always heard they had a sweet trigger pull but if someone's been inside of it who didn't know what they were doing trying to make it even lighter then there's a condition you should check for....

If you ever think a hammer fired gun has too light of a trigger you might want to check for something called push off...


" To test for push off, first assure the firearm is unloaded, check twice, then lock the hammer back as if shooting in single action. Then with your thumb press forward firmly ( but not overly forcefully ) on the rear of the hammer spur, as if you are trying to force the hammer forward to fall. *Do not use an excessive amount of force because you can actually cause the condition by applying too much force and damaging your trigger engagement!

If the hammer falls forward with this forward (or even sideways) pressure on the hammer when you're not pressing the trigger, then your gun has push off."

Now a lot of people consider that an extremely dangerous conditions but to me as long as I know about it I can take precautions against it causing an accidental discharge. Like only firing in double action and not letting other people shoot that particular weapon.
