So, was basically put out of commission for a few weeks due to illness - dental surgery, then a very unusual complication of anesthesia --> persistent hiccups (once every 2-sec!?!). Been to Urgent Care around 4 times and once to my Primary Care physician, going through 4 different treatments/medications.
Now, that I've quite healed a bit, I can't repress the itch to pull a trigger any longer...
Took out the H&K USP Expert 45 and the backup Glock 34 Gen 3 pistols to the range, and worked on some group therapy.
First off was 25-yards slow fire with the USP. The Shoot-N-C is 5-inches in diameter, and 3 shots were off but still inside 8-inches (using an IDPA silhouette). I guess I need to work more on my breathing to manage the wobble shooting long range.

I then plastered a new Shoot-N-C over the same target and proceeded with an "Extend-Prep-Trigger" drill at 7-yards with my backup Glock 34.

This drill has one starting the pistol by your waist (just like a step #3 in a 5-count draw). At the sound of the beep, present the pistol and fire. My par for freestyle is at 0.9-sec, 1.2-sec for strong hand only (SHO); and 1.5 for weak hand only (WHO). The reds were my misses from SHO and WHO. Yeah, definitely need more work with establishing my natural point of aim. Oh, well - back to dry practice...
Regardless, it was indeed nice to get back to shooting, and satisfying group therapy back from being sick...
