Reasonable Red Dot for hand gun

What is a good red dot for a hand gun without going to top dollar ones??

All needed is that it holds zero without abuse or getteing banged around (light range use). Does not need to be super war duty grade or tacticool or anything Trijicon priced.

Vortex Venom, although battery does not last compared to a Trijicon.

If one has astigmatism, I would like to suggest a 1 MOA RMR.

Instead of a 10 MOA comet like blob I see on a 3 MOA dot, I see a 2-3 MOA blob using my 1 MOA RMR lol.

Just a friendly advice, get the proven and test RMR and use Paypal Credit to pay. 6 months zero interest financing. Just pay the price of a Vortex or similar as your first payment and split the difference for the monthly payment of six.

I was able to acquire a new RMR Type 2 1 MOA for $420 shipped with coupons and promos from Optics Planet. Don't have to pay over $500 for them. B & H currently has them for $469 (3 MOA) shipped with no codes required I believe. No sales taxes too!

lol, this has $50 cap, no good. I think I purchased with 20% off without cap, but recently the best deal was 10-15% off with ebucks.

The Burris FF3 and AR-536 combo is great if you need a mid-range rifle scope. For about $360, you get an excellent 5x prism rifle optic and excellent red dot. The FF3 is about $240 by itself; the 5x prism sight is probably worth $250-300.

This is true for carry and similar applications, but there is no benefit for range use. Very few competitors use Trijicon RMR and those guns take a lot of "range abuse."

Just something to keep in mind - choose "best" based on application. For general purpose use, larger and clearer glass wins...
