CZ-75B hammer question

I recently order a spur hammer for my CZ-75B, I like the retro look better. I checked out a few videos on of others swapping out the hammers and they struggled getting out the pins (main spring strut and disconnector) out of the old hammer.

Have any of you guys swapped out the hammer and had this same issue? Any tips?

Hammer and disco pins can require some effort to remove in some cases. It can vary from CZ to CZ. While it can be done with out one in some cases a starter punch is a good idea in most cases.

I have always been able to get them out using a starter punch, a bench block as a backing while doing the work on a sturdy desk.

For the real tough ones the best method i have heard of is finding a peace off wood to use as a backing, put a hole in the wood to catch the pin and give it space to be punched out. Place the wood on a concrete floor for a backing. Use a starter punch and a hammer with some weight to it. Then if it is still not coming out, find a bigger hammer. From what i have gatherd, the issues that people run into the most is their backing absorbing the energy from their hammer and punch or they were not using a starter punch. Getting them started out is usually the hard part if there is one, once you get them going it gets easier in my experience.

I have also heard that those automatic center punches work well for starting the hammer/disco pins out but i have yet to try this my self.

Yes, swapped it out.

After watching the same vids, I was prepared for an evening of cursing and regret... But that didn’t happen, while it is a bit tricky to do, being prepared for it mentally is enough to get you through it without much drama
