the reason I decided to pick up an XD is because it has some features that are not found on a Glock Gen 3 , it's kind of like getting Gen 4 features
the closest thing to a Gen 4 except sold by SA , the XD is like a Hybrid Glock / HS 2000
1. no finger grooves
2. Heavy duty double recoil spring assembly
3. factory steel sights
4. free extra gear / magazines / rebate
5. reasonable price, a lot of bang for your buck
6. excellent quality / reliable design
7. has a nice smooth trigger pull, not as "spongy" as a Glock trigger
8. nice shooting, handling
9. standard rifling with fully supported chamberLast edited by omega; 08-31-2018, 11:09 AM.Comment

XD is also very reliable. I've put around 4k rounds (I don't keep track, but I've been putting around 1000-1250 rounds through it for several months) and have only had 2-3 issues from federal aluminum ammo. Two were over the weekend, and I had not cleaned the barrel after 2-3 prior range trips; which equates to roughly 700-900 rounds, some fairly dirty.Comment

I know a lot of guys are happy with the current crop of non Glock polymer pistolas. And I know everybody is looking for a good deal.
I hope the OP finds the pistol he desires and at the price he's comfortable with.
It is good glock has competition, keeps the price down.
It is just a bit frustrating that the copies are not just a little bit better having the benefit of all this time to do so.
I have glocks, but I don't prefer to shoot any polymers given the choice with steel pistolas.
You know, the Real pistolas. ha ha.Last edited by hambam105; 08-31-2018, 12:55 PM.Comment

They do seem to give you a lot for the price... Mine was probably $three something with gear package... I mean where else you find that. Whether I love the thing is another story.
As far as M&P's... man that Shield is a nice little gun for the price.
Overall if I did it again, I'd put that XD9 money towards one of my Glocks I bought later. Personal preference.Comment

Armslist is still showing the availability of some police trade-in Glock 19 - 9mm for just $375. I personally like the PX4 Storm Type F (used for $400).
Liberty must be defended, for the entire world is set against it; dictators and tyrants, kings and powers...none want the death of liberty more than these.Comment
