    HK USP Expert

Just picked up a HK USP Expert 45 and was looking for some holster recommendations. I use Safariland holsters for my 1911 and glocks but was wondering what other people are using?

Correct to assume OWB, like for competition or open carry? The USP Expert is a bit large for IWB concealed carry.

I could not find one to fit my USP 45 Expert so I am in the process of making a nice leather IWB/OWB. I'll post pictures when done & if you like we can discuss me making one for you. In the mean time take it out and shoot it. These are a thing of beauty to fire

        Rivers:
Yes it would be for OWB range/competition shooting.

        DASchell:
I would be very interested in that, let me know how it goes.

I am also looking for a holster for an HK Expert 45, preferably one with an open bottom to be suppressor compatible.

Custom with zZz Holsters! Had them build TWO - one with the light (for night matches) and another without.

            Cheers,

I have a Safariland 568-49-411, SKU: 1124838 (marked on back 568 49 15 18). Made for the 5" Springfield XD, but works fine for the Expert. I also have an old Safariland 6005 drop leg made for the Expert, but not always practical. I really want a holster for the Expert with TLR-4 light/laser mounted, but seems like no one has a mold for the expert. I've very tempted to make a mold myself using my KWA USP Tactical with an added on wood block.

I have a .45 Expert and although I don't need a holster for it at the moment, as some point in time I will. I'm guessing it won't be easy to find one.

However, I know of a some holster makers that can make one out of a Full size USP .45 and just make it so that it has an open bottom to fit the Expert -- I've had this done for a few of my Glock holsters -- open bottom so I can use it on multiple size Glocks.

I have an Elite and a full size usp. The Elite fits fine in the FS rig, but you have to draw forward or the front sight snags. It's a Galco Fletcher model.

A ramped Front Sight (Dawson Precision) can probably help minimize snag.

Thanks for the advice, but it's not a major problem. I have Mepro nite sites on it. I didn't get them for the ns capability, I only wanted to get a 3 dot system and at the time this seemed to be my only option.

                            Apologies for the late reply...

Here are a couple of photos of my Expert 45 with a TLR-3 weapon light. These are from zZz Holster!! Yeah, supporting local businesses...
