    Help Identify this Firearm

Just for fun and my own curiosity, so first person to ID gets a digital high five.

This was posted by Upland PD after an attempt to ditch the firearm and flee. It is clearly centerfire, has a slide mounted safety, markings on the slide I am unable to read, but no markings on the grips. My quick google-fu did not turn up any usual suspects.

It looks very familiar to a small 25 automatic ACP pistol that I believe was a polish design. My problem is I can't remember the man's name other than it was something like

Budesski . Not many of them came into America so you don't see them much but supposedly they were reliable.

Ok, I slaughtered the guys name but I got the right one.

Norarmco Budischowsky TP-70 .25 ACP Double Action Semi-Auto Pistol

They were pretty unique for a 25 ACP being that it had a double action trigger when most pistols of that caliber did not.

They always look like miniature Smith & Wesson 3rd Generation semi-auto pistols to me.

I remember being interested in them because someone had told me they were reliable but then time went on and more pocketable 32 and 380 semi-auto pistols started to almost get down to that size and more importantly weight.

Oh my hearings bad and I thought you said a digital hi-fi. I even had the wires pre-installed and bought new speakers.

Just kidding of course, thanks for the gun trivia game and I'm going to continue it just in case someone else wants to play more gun game

And rather than try and post an image on calguns, which is a pain in the butt from my phone I'll just ask a gun trivia question.

Without the using the internet to cheat can anyone here tell me what's extremely unique about the Norinco model 77B ( M 77B) semi-automatic pistol.

*Extra points if you can name other earlier gunmakers that use this unique feature.

The winner will get 2 digital HIGH FIVES and they will be allowed to surf and ski in the same day... if they have a really fast car.

I remember now why I was so interested in that particular model.

I've always wanted a micro mouse pocket gun in 22 long rifle (not 22 short or 25 ACP) because you're paying much more for ammo and getting not much is any more stopping power, which is a joke in those calibers anyway.

And I'm not particular fan of Beretta's design where there is no extractor to pull out any dud rounds , just by racking the slide back( duds used to happen more frequently in 22-caliber rimfire, than it does nowadays I think.)

And I still think strongly that if a design like this one it was very reliable for rimfire but with maybe a polymer frame and lightweight modern materials would sell well in the US because everyone already has a 22 long rifle long gun here anyway. It would be the perfect "fishing box gun" /plinking / ultimately concealable but extremely low powered last-ditch self-defense pistol.

Would you buy an ultra-light and reliable lightweight Micro Mini double or single action 22 long rifle handgun, that was quality made unlike some bigger but similar being produced today like Phoenix Arms HP 22 model?

                    I thought the same.
My biggest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them.

Pistol M77B. IIRC that's the current Chinese service sidearm. It's a blowback in 7.62x17. It is a striker fired single action design. I'm not sure exactly how that works.

Maybe the most unusual feature of this gun is that you can chamber a round one handed by pulling back on the trigger guard.

No doubt someone has reviews of this on You Tube I'll have to go look.

Irma and American Arms and others marketed a slick little PPK clone in LR. I have one, got it for $200, and it works perfectly with CCI minimags

BINGO TIPOC !!! You are 100% correct with the question I asked.

The model that Norinco was copied from earlier unique style " trigger guard cocking system " for semi automatic pistols.

That meant if you only had one hand you could just pull back on the trigger guard and it would cock the pistol , pull back the slide and release it there by loading the pistol and then it would be ready to fire... Here's a semi comedic video of one in action...

Tipoc, Now that you've won you get to make you speech and throw out another gun trivia or identify this unique gun by a photograph.

And if you've already gone to bed other people could still get at what pistol did Norinco copy with the trigger cocking system?

Help from similar videos, not off top of head. So won't list answer in print.

Really neat. Never had a clue either existed but a huge fan of the HK P7. The other one-hand wonder In fact one is for sale in marketplace. Super clean.

Upgrade to L fries and coke.
