    New S&W 586 L comp

I brought home my new Lcomp today and I got to say I'm a bit disappointed. The trigger is very nice. However free spinning the cylinder it's not as smooth as my previous Ruger gp100. There seems to be a little a bit of cylinder play under lockup. Not what I expected from a performance shop piece @ $1275.

I picked one up a few years back under SAE (my luck they would get added to roster now). The lock up and timing was good but my trigger wasn't exactly up to standards. I ended up sending to Randy Lee @Apex for a carry action tune.

I felt that the front tritium sight was for the most part useless. It was so small I could barely see it. I ended up changing out front and rear sights to those that were standard on the 386NG models.

Otherwise it's a fine revolver! You'll enjoy it.

Yeah I think I have the same aftermarket sights as you. XS standard size white do plus tritium on front and DL Sports fixed rear. My guns play I don't think is excessive, I guess I was just thinking the extra $500 over the cost of a ruger would be more noticeable. Gonna shoot it friday.

I'm actually using the C&S fixed rear sight. If I recall correctly the DL Sports fixed rear sight sits a little too high for the XS front sight. When you take it out to the range and if you find your point of impact is off you may need to switch to the C&S fixed rear sight.

I almost got the cylinder and slide because they have an actual online store & DL Sports doesn't , but I didn't like the rear of the sight not having grooves to cut glare.
