Looking for a Beretta M9

I am looking to buy a Beretta M9 for sentimental reasons. I had one as my sidearm in Iraq. My basic questions are:
1. are they legal in California?
2. From what I have read on here the M9 civilian model is the same as the
92fs. What is the difference in price, or better yet what is a decent price
for an M9?

Why is that? I went to the gun show on Saturday at the OC fairgrounds and only saw maybe 5 in the whole place!

I just took a look at the CA DOJ's Roster of Approved Handguns. It lists both "M9 America's Defender 20th Anniversary / Steel, Alloy" and "M9 Commercial / Steel, Alloy". So it looks like they are available in CA, but I don't know about the price or where you can find one. Someone else can chime in there.....

The place I found selling one comes with a 15 rounder, I will have to ask if they would ship it with a 10.

if one persisted, one might locate one of the commemorative issue m9's. i believe it was a limited run of 10,000 (experts chime in here, please), and done in 1996 or 1998.

They came with the .mil version of the 92, 2 mags, the std issue web belt, wierd-looking-but-probably-functional plastic holster, and some other stuff which escapes me now.

That sounds cool, but not exactly what I am looking for, I am guessing the price would be way up there.

are you on the hunt for this as well? not to intentionally confuse your thread (and if it does, let me know), but have you thought about putting one together as opposed to buy a complete?
