I have seen a Chinese made copy of a Mauser Broomhandle in .45 ACP a couple of times. Now I know something about where it might be from.
In the early part of the 20th Century a Chinese warlord decided that to secure the province he ruled he needed an arms factory. Before long his arsenal made high quality copies of German artillery pieces and small arms. They even copied the Thompson submachine gun in .45 ACP. At the time another arm popular with the troops was the Mauser Broomhandle in 7.63 mm. To avoid the need to make 7.63mm ammunition they built about 8,500 Broomhandle pistols chambered in .45 ACP.
