I had 2 single stack firestars in the past. One in 9mm and one in 45. Both were nice guns. One thing parts were hard to get 10 years ago. Finding parts now might be close to impossible.Comment

I have a single stack firestar .40 and the one I have is quite accurate despite its small size. It’s all steel and works similar to 1911...takedow is the same...single action...cocked n locked with an external safety. The only issue with them, is that their orphans. The only part that I have heard issues with is th extractor. Last time I shot mine, it reacquainted myself to why I bought in the first place.Comment

My 45 broke the slide stop.Comment

I have 2 m43 9mm and a m45 in .45 the .45 is starvel all have been great pistols no issues. they were handgun of the year in 1992 I think, little on the heavy side but that helps with recoil in such a compact pistol.
460.00 seems a little on the high sideComment

There’s one in the marketplace right now. Great guy selling it too. You should check it out.

I briefly owned a Star 30M pistol. I really liked it and it shot very well when it worked. However, it had all kinds of problems with seating and removing the magazines. This included aftermarket and factory magazines, which are very expensive.Comment

Does anyone know where to get parts for these guns?
I have a friend who has one missing the trigger bar and it needs a new trigger also.
Who has Parts?

Star's have a few problems but they can be made to work.
Metallurgy was hit and miss.
A lot of the parts were hand fitted. Back in the day, they had a lot of gun smiths that would take care of this before they left the factory. Later, not so much.
I have 2 and after a little work, they are very reliable. I like them.
Parts can be a problem. Numriches has the best selection, followed by ebay, and a few others.Comment

1st auto I ever owned (Firestar 40) mine is great little pistol. Wife likes it. Its on the heavy side but as said before helps with recoil, probably why wife likes it. Eats everything I've fed it, factory ammo or reloads without a hick up. Parts ARE an issue now a days, specifically firing pin. If you find one BUY IT! Great little point & click can opener, cant get anything comparable for the same $ but not much of a resale market. My 2cents...Comment

Excellent pistol. I had one back in the 90s, sold it, but fairly recently picked one back up. I really liked it and is a reason why I purchased it again. However, I am concerned about finding parts that may eventually break. It's not that easy to find.sigpicComment
