Hello Calgunners,
I could use some recommendations for a particular kind of pocket pistol. I'm looking for something light enough to ride in sweat pants without pulling down on them too much.
Caliber doesn't matter that much to me, but I do prefer smaller calibers for smaller guns, and strongly prefer commonly available calibers. I'm a firm believer that the ability to practice often trumps any other consideration about caliber (so cost and comfort are big factors to me).
I've already looked at the P238, but it's 15 oz unloaded, so with a loaded magazine it'd be pretty heavy.
I haven't had a chance to try the Kahr P380 yet, but on paper it's very compact and light. Although some people claim Kahrs are unreliable.
The LCR and M&P 340 are strong contenders as well. I always hear about problems with compact semis but not very much about compact revolvers.
I've looked at the NAA Mini Revolver as well but it seems like such a pain to load and unload that I would end up not practicing a whole lot with it. The Sidewinder looks interesting but in California we can only get the 4" model and that makes it too long for the pocket.
Am I missing anything? Anyone have any other recommendations?
