Since it's an SD pistol in the Sub-Compact category, it is not worth the extra funds for the XR. It's basically point-shoot at SD distances with a focus on combat/center of mass accuracy.

Yes, the thinner post on the XR is nice, but it is not as fast as the standard HD. Of course, it is up to you.

Trijicon isn't good for CCW, rear sight is sharp as hell.

Replaced mine with Ameriglo Hackathorn, way better. https://ameriglo.com/collections/glo...ackathorn-sets

I put Truglo TFX Pros on my 26. Easy to use up close and I was able to hit a 4x4 orange cube target at 50yds. If your set of thw Trijicons I would go with the XR's.

I understand what you mean, faster for more accurately placed shots. For my purposes, I see the front sight filling the rear and it's on target, so for me the fatter sight is faster rather than attempting to center the front post.

An alternative to the Agent sight is the Ameriglo Protector. It's the same basic idea less the tritium rear. It's a good $30 cheaper, but I do like the Agent as a Trijicon HD alternative for over half the price.

It's generally recognized that the less gap between the front and rear sights, the more they can slow you down.

In this video, Tom Givens demonstrates that provided you have a decent trigger press, good hits are possible without perfect sight alignment (approx 00:40 in video).

I prefer the XR for shooting, I've done classes with XR's, but damn the rear sight is sharp as hell against my side when carrying.

I mostly carry with JM Custom Kydex OWB2 holsters, mid size sweat guard, and that rear sight just digs in. Full disclosure - I'm fat, lol

I have the Trijicon "Bright & Tough". They have a white ring around the glow dots for easy daytime use. They come in all green, front green with orange or yellow rear

green is good for 12 yrs, IIRC orange or yellow for 5 years after date of mfg.

I have the HDs on my glock 30sf. While they are ceetainly sharp, i woulsnt classify them as sharp as hell. Granted i carry at 4 or 5 oclock in an alien gear 2.0 on that pistol so barely feel it. The front sight i wish was narrower , you block out a lot on the plate racks at 25 yards, again this is a self defense pistol? Theyll be fine.

I have ameriglo and trijicon HD
If it’s a cc gun do not get the trijicons you will regret it the are too sharp
Ameriglos are cheaper and easier to install with those cheap universal site pushers due to the angle

I have the XR versions and no plans to carry. Also considered the Ameriglo's but with only costing a few dollars more, I went with the Trijicon brand =) in the event I sell it in the future. Easier to sell with the brand recognition and all =)

Also, I recently purchased XS sights. As they say, "put the ball on the tee", one can't really go wrong with fast sight acquisition. I didn't get the "big dot" version though hoping that it would be better for longer range. Moving forward, I will be sticking with XS sights with my other pistols.

And here is the Trijicon HD XR:

I have Trijicon HDs on my 43, they’re not what I wanted but they’re alright, wasn’t anything else available at the time. Front dot is too big and I’m not a fan of the U shaped rear sight. I prefer the Heinie straight eights on my 19. Both are my carry guns.

Hackathorn or XS big dot for a SD gun.
