Giving the P320 a second chance

Well I decided to give the P320 a second chance, especially since I got a really fair deal from a fellow calguns member. A couple years ago I had traded away a fullsize I got when they first came out.

This one has the upgraded trigger, I must say it is much better than the original trigger. I got an Xcarry grip for it during the 10day wait. The X grip makes a big difference for me, I hated the standard grip, that was the main reason I traded away my fullsize. Then the X series came out and I instantly regretted getting rid of mine. Now it actually feels like Im holding a gun.

    Standard compact grip:

I have a full size , medium grip. Wasn't looking for it but had an opportunity to get it cheap so I picked up up. I shoot my VP9 so much better......maybe I should try an Xfame too...

You can get the X carry grip from Midwest Gun Works for $61 shipped. Well worth it IMO. It will look really cool with your fullsize slide as well. Just need to modify the full size mags by filing down those stupid "tabs" on the base plate that stick up into the magwell of the standard grip. I dont know why sig designed the standard mags and grips that way. Pretty retarded if you ask me.

Cant wait to compare this to my VP9 which is easily the most accurate gun for me to shoot.

Thanks for the info. The ergonomics of the VP 9 just "work" for me. I have between two VP9's over 35,000 rounds down the tube without a single malfunction!!! I just wish they came with plain black sights........

Funny, I had the opposite experience. I had a full sized with a flat Apex trigger. Trigger sucked but the small full size frame fit my hand so well. I just didn't like the balance or the trigger. I would try it again with the new trigger but I know it won't beat my P10c or Apex M&P 2.0

Got a chance to take it to the range today. It is a very nice shooting pistol. Nicer than my Glocks. Glock must be pretty relieved these arent on the roster. I really dont see how any gen Glock is "better". The high bore axis doesnt seem to matter. I still love my Glocks, but then again I love pretty much all guns.

Very satisfied with this pistol, It's a keeper this time.

OP, besides being a bit on the short side, what didn't you like about the compact grip vs the Xcarry? I'm unfamiliar with xcarry.

What kind of trigger work does it have?

I have a compact that's the same as it came out of the box.

The xcarry just has a fullsize grip which of course is always preferable in a shooting gun. Its really a great combination. The compact slide has a 3.9" barrel which is very close to the Glock 19 barrel length. Its very easy to manage any recoil with the longer grip. Its just a pleasure to shoot.

The upgraded low mass trigger is very nice. Not as light as the VP9 but very tactile. Kinda like if a P226 and a Glock had a baby. It would be an improvement of both.

Yeah it does have that going for it. Its a handsome looking pistol.

What size magazine require for the X-carry grip? (a full magazine with base pad modified). I have a compact P320.

Yup, the carry and fullsize model grips are the same size. They take full size mags. All you have to do is grind off the little insert tabs on the mags to fit the x series grips.
