      To answer the question, first ask yourself what all do you want to modify on the pistol. Then figure if it's cost effective to go that route or to just sell it and buy a different 1911 that already has the features you want.

        It seems Taurus is using forged slide and frame for their 1911s, which is a good thing. They are also claiming excellent fitting of slide to frame.

        It’s been a while since I sold my last Taurus brand handgun, a PT92 model. There was nothing wrong with it as it prove to be accurate and reliable enough for defensive purposes.

        When Taurus 1911 first came out I could’ve sworn they used cast frames on them.
