Springfield Armory 1911-A1 Blued Steel Mags - Sitrep?

Springfield Armory 1911-A1 Blued Steel Mags:

They ship with the Parkerized Mil-Spec model.

    - How is their serviceability and reliability?
    - Trusted for HD use?
    - Recommendation for alternatives?

    TIA

The ones that came with my Mil Spec work great. In fact I don't use anything but those and Colt/usgi 7 round mags.

Buy some Wilson ETM or 47D magazines. I've not been impressed with the stock Springfield 1911 mags, even the ones that came with my TRP.

I have two Mil-Specs and about 10 of their mags, I've never had a single hiccup with either. These a very good 1911s for the money.

The Springfield magazines should be fine.

My absolute favorite 1911 magazine is the Tripp Research 8 round Cobra Mag http://www.trippresearchinc.com/8r-45-rg/ . The Wilson 47d has some known issues and the ETM's were an attempt to improve on the design. Get a Cobra Mag and do your own comparisons in quality to the others.

I trust MECGAR blued 7 rd magazines, very reliable , and high quality

the finish is smooth as glass, they also feed and drop free better because of the extra smooth finish.

MECGAR made in Italy is the OEM for several top of the line firearms

Wilson 47D have been flawless for me. My Springfield mags have also worked flawlessly. Just a personal preference.

My mag that came with my SA1911-A1 mil-spec is a CMC "Shooting Star" 7 round mag. I've since bought six more after market mags that are called Springfiels OEM 7 round mags. Very high gloss finish and they all have that dimple on the follower. These work perfectly. I don't know who manufactures these, but, they work. Found them on e-bay.

I have had very mixed results with any metal follower 1911 mag. Springfield, Chip McCormick, etc.

Wilson 47 series have been flawless

Are you having issues with the ones you have? Asking a bunch of keyboard commandos makes no sense. Shoot it, if it works, your question is answered.

                          Well... No.

Have one inbound w/ Two mags included.

For Single-stacks, I generally like to have Five.

So, I am in the market for 3-5 mags, depending on how the long range service of the OEM mags are.

Thanks for all the useful objective replies so far.

Stay away from the Wilson 47D's...they are only able to hold 8 rounds due to compromises in the design/strength of the follower and spring. Many people have had no problems with them but there have since been better 8 rounders introduced into the market like the Wilson ETM HD's.

I have a bunch of the SA 7 rd mags. They have worked great for the last six years in my SA Loaded and my Kimber Custom II TLE.
