    M&P model differences

    Hey guys,

I'm a little confused on the different M&P models. Can anyone offer a summary of the regular, 2.0 and Core models? Which ones have the long slide and nice trigger? Is the Core the only model that's ready for a red dot sight?

    Thanks in advance.

Basically, you have the base model M&P
    Pro - F/O front sight, 5” slide
CORE - optics ready. Slide is cut for optics. 5” slide
2.0 - upgraded trigger, aggressive grips panels
    Some models have ported barrels.

Unless you’re either a LEO, have a parent/child out of state or willing to pay an extreme premium, you’re limited to the base model Shield.

If you have a regular M&P, the addition of a fiber optic front sight and an Apex trigger would make it just as nice as some of the more expensive options. I just picked one up and it is really nice.

Appreciate the breakdown, guys. I'll see if I can track down that Pro or Core model then. I'm guessing there's no Core 2.0 model?

It doesn't look like it: http://www.smith-wesson.com/mp

I just picked up a M&P 2.0 Compact for what I considered a reasonable price. Going to shoot it tomorrow.
