Trigger too light on Buckmark Camper

Hey All,

I bought a used Browning Buckmark Camper for the express purpose of teaching. When I had it at the range, it's clear the trigger has been lightened significantly. It doesn't bother me at all, but makes it tougher to use as a teaching firearm, especially for first time shooters.

I researched it a bit, and it appears the spring may have been reversed to achieve this; it seems like the most popular tweak for Buckmarks.

I contacted the seller to ask, but haven't heard back.

I'd like to put it back to factory. Would you recommend I buy a new spring to do so, or just reverse the existing one again? How difficult of a job is it? I'm quite mechanically inclined, and have no fear of youtube videos, so I'm happy to try it myself if it's not overly complicated.

On my Buckmark Lite & Contour:
- Trigger from manufacture about 3.5# to 4.5#.
- After turn the sears spring around, trigger weight is about 2.5#

If your BM trigger is about 2.5# then your BM been mod. already, just turn the sears spring LONG leg to the RIGHT (original install from manufacturing).

It's not difficult to turn the sears spring back to manufactory configuration just pay attention that while you do the 'un-mod.' the spring may pop and fly around the room.

There is also the bobby pin spring modification out there.
If you find this in your gun, you will need to get the original spring from Browning or egunparts.

Have you tested the trigger pull on a gauge? Sometimes people think any trigger in the 3-4 lbs is too light. My stock Browning Buckmark Hunter has a trigger pull of 3 lbs 7.9 oz. That's basically a competition trigger for most peoples purposes.

its easy to do. not much to switch spring back to original configuration. wont harm function.

Thank you so much! I'll do the switch tomorrow, and let you know how it goes. Might even dry fire it with some snap caps to see the difference.

Just wanted to report back that the pistol performed well at the range. All ready for training new shooters to use, back to factory trigger.
