    Glock smooth vs ribbed trigger

I have the 30SF, nice gun. It came with the ribbed trigger unlike the 21. Fortunately the two trigger & bars are interchangeable across all gens.

After shooting 50 rounds in the 30 I find the trigger (ribbed) gets uncomfortable so thinking the smooth trigger will resolve this

    Thoughts?

So the question is you prefer smooth versus ribbed. Should this question be in OT? Maybe ask FP?

I remember reading somewhere it was ribbed for her pleasure.......

I've never noticed a difference while actually shooting. While fingering the gun yes, while pulling the trigger in anger no.
If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.

The ribbed vs smooth trigger all has to do with the system they use to determine whether a pistol can be imported to the USA.
The ribbed trigger makes it a target trigger.

Me neither. Much ado about nothing, if you'd ask me.

Jerry Miculek, one of the fastest revolver shooters in the world prefers a serrated trigger and smooth wood grips, he says he like to adjust hand position as he goes. Other camps on the issue are to have a rough grippy grip and a smooth trigger. You just need to decided what works best for you. I did not know it was an importation requirement on the small Glocks, but that may give you a clue as to what Gaston thinks works the best.

              ...Doh...I knew there was a reason :-)

IDK why Glock used the ribbed vs smooth on the 30 (21 is smooth) or if as noted it had something to do with import requirement

Yeah I understand some may prefer the "feel" of ribbed or smooth.

The G 30 is the only pistol I have with a ribbed trigger and I do notice some finger irritation after firing 50+ rounds in a afternoon with it vs same amount of rounds in other "smooth" trigger pistols I have

I will swap in the $15 Glock 21 smooth trigger and see if it feels any better after long use.

I vastly prefer the smooth Glock triggers to the ribbed trigger.

I swapped all the ribbed triggers for smooth triggers in my Glocks. I don't like the feel of the ribbed triggers.

“Target triggers” provide more points for importing - same reason they come with “target sights” from factory. I like smooth faced better.

I prefer the non-ribbed, aka "smooth" triggers on my Glocks.
Another option to consider is replacing the trigger with trigger bar with an aftermarket unit, even if it's just the "shoe" portion.
I've been using Kineti-tech.com trigger shoes for a few years now and like them.

Same here, especially in high round count classes.

As mentioned above certain models are forced to use the ribbed trigger to get enough points for importation. I swapped out my the ribbed triggers for smooth in my G26 and G27.

I see there is a lot of deeper talking that needs to be done here lol.
