LEO trade in, serial number puts it at 1997. It's not stainless, just the slide is. The number etched into the slide is not OEM (although it may have been done by Sig its self as part of a LEO contract- the font matches others that I have seen). Grips are aftermarket Houge.

After a GOOD cleaning, I'd say $6-700 bucks in CA... $350-400 in freedom land.

The good thing is that while it is a LEO trade in all the internal parts are tool steel- no MIM this early. It's going to last a lifetime.

If you can please keep it. The mid to late 90's Sigs are by far the best built. You have a keeper.

I concur that it is a LEO trade in and the additional serial numbers are related to the LEO contract. We really need to see photos of the rails and the muzzle of the barrel to determine the wear / est rounds fired.

Take the slide off, clean the gun and photo the rails on both sides of the slide and photograph the barrel out of the gun and we can give you a good idea of the round count.

It is a German framed, but the frame was shipped to Exeter for assembly and mating to the .40/.357 Sig stainless slide.

                  If you're looking for a 9mm German built P226, I'll trade ya. I'm looking for a .357 Sig P226. PM me.

it also has newer night sighs about a year old. Been a great shooter i enjoy it a lot, but its not something i shoot a lot. however it has been the one i keep by my bed since i bought it. I got a hk sitting there now and now this one sits next to me in my computer/gun room.

That barrel and slide rail wear is expected for a pistol from that era. The older barrels don't have that DLC finish like on the newer barrels.

I also noticed that your slide has a solid roll pin, which is consistent for mid to late 90's era, short extractor Sigs. This also means that you have the older style locking block that isn't directly compatible with 9mm exchange kits. The newer ones are universal between calibers.

I'd keep it if I were you. You can't go out and buy a non railed P series anymore easily in CA. And the P series you buy in CA on the roster, have the mag disconnect and chamber indicator.

Besides the picture is dark, but it looks like there is minimal wear on the slide rails. The prior owner didn't put a ton of rounds through it, so you have a keeper.
