    1911 mag jams

This is my sprigfield 1911A1 that i got back after selling it to a friend a few years ago along with several factory mags including 1-10round factory mag from springfield. Ive notices since getting it back the 10 rounder causes major problems, nose dives, not cycling fully, jamming. Any ideas on fix? thanks

Replace the magazine with a reliable mag.

The only mag I've had an issue with is a .45 ACP mag... Mecgar 10 rounder. Yeah, use a reliable tested mag. That's a huge deal with a 1911. Getting single-stack mags to work.

Different 1911 like different mags. Some like wilson, chip, tripp, factory, Mc gar, ect. Alot depends on bullet profile, the follower, spring, feed ramp.

The new issue of American Rifleman has a listing of 1911 ten round mags.

My mag was brand spanking new, but I'll try a CMC for my next 10 rounder or just use 8's... or a Glock, hahah.

I guess I will try a Tripp or Wilson... the Wilson's I have for a 9mm are good.

Springs can't handle a big heavy lineup of .45's? A stock Glock spring handles 10, 13, or 15 in a G21/41/30/30S... must be Austrian adamantium springs.

My Kimber TLE malfunctions (FTF) with all of it's magazines I just take it as an opportunity to practice malfunction clearances.

This. 👆👆👆👆👆👆👆 Get the gun fixed (if its not in-spec), and ensure your mags are in-spec and never worry about "finicky 1911s".

I had a similar problem with a new SA loaded with Wilson Combat 10 rounders.

Switched to Chip 10 rnd magazines and have been working flawlessly.

Springs are just too stiff for the WC 10 round magazines, both regular and ETM versions, for my particular pistol that is.

Did that 10 round mag worked properly before you sold it at got it back?
