Stoeger's book and/or dry fire is not particular to competition. They are fundamental to pistol craft (as Mike Hughes would use to say).

laser magnifies gun's movement at dry fire significantly (than white wall training),
very easy to see how muzzle moves while dry fire.
ZERO movement is imposhiburu for human, but
left-right movement : NG
up-down movement : NG
front-back movement : OK. no effect to point of aim and impact.
evolved device is Mantis-X, it can record all movement into iPhoneComment

I also have the Reloaded book; but for some reason, I tend to gravitate to the more compact 15-minutes a Day.
Cheers!!!
Someone here needs to lessen their caffeine intake... If it bothers you, here is another reference: http://pistol-training.com/archives/118 (this drill was designed by George Harris of the SIG Sauer Academy).
Enjoy! Safe shooting!

Awesome shootingDo the "White Wall Fundamentals" drill from Ben Stoeger's book for about 5-mins per day every day.
If people think I wouldn't know what I am talking about... I have only started into firearms a couple of years back - these are my groups, which I shot quite recently, with a Glock 34 Gen 3:

(*) For comparison, the target at 7- to 15-yards is a 2-inch circle; the target at 25-yards is 5-inches.
