CZ P01, jailed my first hammer fired CZ!

9 more days left before I can finally shoot my new CZ P01. It is my first hammer fired CZ and very first DA/SA handgun. I'm thinking of ordering some VZ grips and TruGlo TFX Pros for it. Anyone have any suggestions on aftermarket sights and grips for the CZ P01? Would love to see pics of your setup...

I'm also considering mounting a light on it, would like one that fits flush with the muzzle. Really interested in seeing any EDC pics of your rig for the P01. Any tips or recommendations you guys have would be appreciated!

I suggest, you put minimum 500 rnds through the gun, and then decide what you want/need to add/change. Just my 2 cents!

Appreciate that, although I am not a fan of the stock sights. Those are getting changed asap.

I've changed the hammer on every CZ I've owned, and sights. I find the stock ring hammer has too much creep, but I guess the shape of it is supposedly better for IWB.
I'd offer to sell you my truglo if I could get it off the darn thing. Looking to do a slide swap? Hahaaa..

For lights, I went with the APLc and it looks fantastic. The XC1 and the APLc both look like they were made for the P01, but the APLc is better priced and from what I've read has a brighter light and is more reliable. But it's slightly larger/heavier. (Pic enclosed)

I'd also consider the combat trigger or the flat trigger, a Kadet, and one day I want to get the CGW or CZC aluminum thin grips as a second set, though the rubbers are fantastic ergonomics. Also depending on how deep you want to go, I've heard nothing but good things about sending it in to be Cajunized.

But a hammer, a trigger (I hate the stock recurve), sights, and a lot of shooting are the essentials for me. Also, if you intend to do the work yourself, I recommend either getting a decocker slave pin set from CGW, or using the hammer spring pin, either will save you a lot of curse words.

I have a TLR-8 on my P-01. Fits nicely. I also changed to sights to CZ Custom Fiber optic front/plain rear.

That APLc does fit nicely, thanks for the pic! I would actually prefer a plain black rear sight and orange front dot with tritium. I really like the AmeriGlo Spartans on my M&P, but not seeing an option like that for the P01?

                Front:

                Rear:

I honestly prefer this set from CGW/DAWSONs:

Since the rear site is cut to not look so fat and square unlike the CZC ones.

I thought you mentioned truglos because you wanted the tritium/fo option. My bad.

CZC has a really good selection for the P01 in general here

Then you just get the recommended height front in whatever style you like. But I have some Dawson tritiums waiting to be installed on mine.

one thing about CZC front sight is you need to drill the front sight to fit the pin.

Same goes for the Dawson/CGW sights, I think the ones you don't need to drill is the Trijicon, Truglo TFX and Hiviz. And IIRC those you need to file down to fit anyways.

The stock sights are just metal with painted white dots. You're thinking the SP01 which comes with Meprolights Trudots.

Don’t change anything for a while. I think the stock sights are tru dot, yeah? That’s what came on mine anyway. I changed the stock sights on my 75b and regret it. They had small white dots and the front and left-rear dots faded so much I couldn’t aim that well. Otherwise they’d still be there. I’m not going to put stock ones back on the 75b again but will put tru dot on there. If that’s what is on you P01 I can’t imagine you doing much better.

I’ve never understood the obsession with sights unless you shoot competitively and you’re super serious about it. So maybe I just don’t get the appeal of upgrading. If I’m missing something please speak up.
Yup, what TomT said, the P01 is a compact that comes with unimpressive sights. They are the sights in the picture below. I used to feel like you do in regards to aftermarket sights, until I installed a set of Ameriglo Spartans on my M&P 2.0. The M&P stock sights are MUCH nicer than the CZ stock sights (on the P01), but for me the Ameriglos made the M&P more fun to shoot. Something about having 3 large dots on the M&P sights made the sight picture feel crowded and difficult to focus on the front sight--not sure if this makes sese. I could shoot The M&P just fine with the stock sights, but enjoyed it more with the Ameriglos, just personal preference. I likewise feel I could shoot the P01 just fine with the stock sights, but will have more fun with it if I install some sights I really like.
