    Sig P226 Extreme vs Scorpion

I came in my local dealer to pick up a M9A1 I have been waiting for... no other shop locally have them on stock or access to.

Then I stumbled upon the P226 and they felt really good in my hands. I'm trying now to choose between the Extreme and Scorpion.

Best pricing given to me is $1100 & $1200 respectively.

Are there other shops in the Bay Area who can beat the prices above? Checked online prices and they around the price range.

Also, besides the bigger beavertail and obviously the color, are there any other advantages spending $100 more?

I will give it a day to think about it but definitely passing on the M9A1 considering I already have a 92fs Inox. M9A1 looks so sexy in person though

Started my collection around four months ago and so far I have the following:

SA 1911 Stainless Loaded, Beretta 92fs Inox, & Glock 17 OD

Thank you in advance for your opinions.

Also, anything to look or avoid upon initial inspection such as pignose on Glocks? I may have a few to choose from.

Well, this isn't helping much because I'm not in the Bay area but I have all three of those in stock and all are cheaper than that. You might be able to save 50 or so dollars on each if you look around? But that's down here I don't know about up there.

To answer your other question though, I like the extreme better because I like short reset trigger. I like the looks of the Scorpion better though

I thought the Scorpion also have the SRT, I guess not.

I also have a question about the 10 round magazines. I've been looking online and they mostly have the big plastic magazine base that extends inches up the magazine. I believe the ones that come with the firearm don't.

Which version is more reliable or even a newer design?

M9A1 at the shop is $795. Is your price similar?

Id say get the M9A1 given the rarity. That said, both SIGS have a LCI with the words "loaded when up" spelled across the top of the slide and you cant fire a single round without a mag inserted.

That aside, both are BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL firearms and have an even sweeter DA/SA trigger! Both offer a short reset trigger which is awesome for double taps and have forward cocking serrations. Scorpion has a beavertail with standard trigger (so nice imo). Extreme has no beavertail and has a short reach trigger (not a fan of this trigger due to sometimes i get pinched by it).

In the end, if you can tolerate the "idiot warnings" and I'm just saying but on the Extreme the warning looks even more annoying to me because of the white lettering across the black slide stands out more. Then choose, do you want an fde or black gun. Looking at your collection list, the choice is obvious that you like to stand out jk. Also, do you like the feel of a beavertail and standard trigger vs one with no beavertail combined with a short "reach" trigger?

Still not sure, this is Calguns!!! You will eventually buy all 3 in the future anyway just depends on what order lol!

damn that is expensive for that pistol.

I recall I paid closer to $600 new when they came out.

$679 at riflegear, first place I looked (OOS at the moment, but much more realistic price).

                    $702 in stock online

If I were you, I would leave your FFL and never return.

Got a friend into a Sig 1911 extreme. Its a sexy firearm. Ive never shot an m9 that wasnt constantly having issues. Id go for whichever sig works for you and second the SRT trigger.

Thanks for the input. I'm still new to all this but doesn't SRT stand for "Short Reset", not "Short Reach"?

I like the feel of the Beavertail, but I'm not sure about the idiot warnings and loaded indicator that may get in the way. Is it really that bothersome?

And yes, I still don't have an "All Black" gun making me shy away a bit from the Scorpion. I like the way it looks though lol.

I have the scorpion and it has the srt. I like the beaver tail and color so I went with the scorpion.

                            Seems like

the Scorpion has everything the extreme does ( SRT, front cocking serrations,) plus you get a nice DE paint job and grips that stands it out from the other Sigs. Just my .2 cents but I would grab the Scorpion if it was my choice.

hmmmm. I don't know if it's just me but the M9A1 felt cheap to include the plastic controls compared to the Italian 92fs Inox I have. Maybe it's not properly lubricated..
