Ideas please? XD - Subcompact FTF/FTE issues

So, I picked up my Springfield XD 9mm SC this weekend, and took it to the range. Put 100 rounds of Winchester White Box through it. I had 4 issues, during the round. One time the slide locked back unexpectedly. Mag was still half full. Mag is a 10 round cap, OEM. I figured I must have thumbed the slide lock, though my hands aren't that big.

Next I had 2 Failures to feed. Reracked the slide each time, and it kept going. Never had that with my Beretta 92, so it gave me pause. I also shot a Sig p365 a couple months ago, no FTF with that one, so though it might be my wrist, I haven't had it before.

Last, I had a Failure to eject. Didn't have a rod on me, so the RO cleared it for me. That one made me nervous. It was a spent casing, not a live round, but still.

    Ideas?

Background. The pistol was used, and the gun shop claimed their gunsmith went through it carefully. It's very new looking, no marks on it. It was clean. I didn't lube it (my bad.... I should know better).

It's a Gen 1, rostered. Checked the serial number, not subject to the recall.

Any help you have to offer would be great. I got it to list on my CCW for Arizona, and I want to be proficient on it, just not too happy about 4 hiccups in 100 rounds.

I've got all day to monkey with it, so give me your suggestions.

    Thanks everyone!

Winchester white box is the only ammo I have had a couple issues with in my XD9SC. It runs factory Magtech, IMI, Blazer (which I hate), PMC and Hornady ball and defensive ammo just fine. I also shoot Ventura and Freedom reman ammo through it without issue.

Have thousands of rounds through it, but winchester white box will occasionally give me trouble. Absolutely no idea why.

Well I’ll add to the consensus my xd9 sc doesn’t like win white box ether. So any advice I’d give is to try some different ammo

Edit I still have some I shoot occasionally it makes for good training rounds with the occasional malfunction

Before I sold my XD9 SC for my XD9M it ate everything...except white box. Run everything else and you should be fine.

My old XD 45 Tac eats everything, but... Winchester white box HP/ball ammo. My other 45's didn't like it either. Haven't used it in years for those reasons.

Are we seeing a pattern here[emoji848]??

Wow, thanks gentlemen. I have a box of Federal I'll try. Good thing my other 9mm eats it, been buying it for a while to stockpile it.

Picky guns are like picky children... annoying.

Good call on the training rounds. I will definitely use them with my boys, so they can learn how to respond to a jam.

              Many thanks.

Since it is used with unknown round count a new recoil spring assembly couldn't hurt. Also a thorough disassembly and cleaning, including the extractor assembly may help.
