OP,
If you have your eye on a what I'd refer to as a classic 9mm Hi Power of the 1970s that is decent shape as of today, shows pride of ownership, unaltered in original condition...Then be prepared to part with ~$1,500 American Dollars.
The world has really changed in the last 40 years. Most all of the classic pistols of that era that have survived and are for sale are hard to find and expensive.
Commercial 1911 Colts, Colt Revolvers and popular size Smith & Wesson Revolvers such as Model 19s, 27s, 29s, Walter PPks are all easily reaching the fifteen hundred mark including the Browning Hi Power.
Regular Posters here will be to glad to share with you how inexpensive their purchases were back then. But as for you...You can't buy a gun yesterday. And the alternatives that have been recommended so far are well intentioned, but may very well be a far cry from what I believe are your Hi Power expectations.
