    Agreed on Wolff.
Last time I made a purchase my spring came with a FP spring also.
I'd resist the temptation to install it right away. Save it for later when you get it running right. Quality springs.

Spring in them may need to be replaced. Did not feed reliably as in nose dive or something else?

Old compensator was removed, as in replaced barrel? If yes, was the new barrel fitted by someone or just drop-in?

As another CGer mentioned, EGW has a raised mag release that will lift the mag sitting in the gun. It will help mitigate dimension issue that causes nose dive.

Enhance your 1911A1 with EGW's HD Higher Mag Catch. Features a raised shelf and extended button for improved magazine release and reliable feeding performance.

^^^get one of each of those and see if it works better.

I have never had an issue with either of those two magazines.

I'm using Mec-Gar's in my self built 9mm 1911 and it runs 100%.

Brett, when you have time to diagnose, can you please let us know what was the cause?

                      Thank you very much Brett.

This just goes to show how much of a difference it makes when you can actually see the gun and inspect it for issues versus trying to diagnose on a forum.
So... What is this recoil system that is different from GI and FLGR?

Hopefully soon we can get the OP to chime in on the results when he gets it back.

is this SPRINCO like guide rod? my friend has this kind of guide rod on his CZ TS, and the recoil feel really weird compared to my regular CZ TS with stainless guide rod.

This gun was probably tinkered on and messed with by my grandfather for years (such was his nature). Really happy that this will be shooting 100% soon!

                              Thanks again Brett!
