Best San Diego LGS for consignment?

Anyone have recommendations for a San Diego gun shop that offers a consignment service? Looking to sell a few pistols to thin out my safe. Don't want the hassle of dealing with tire kickers, so from what I've heard, consignment seems like a good way to go.

I've never done consignment before, so I have questions about how it works in general.

Try listing on here you will get more dollars and most gun shops take between 20 to 30%. You also have to wait minimum 30 days to sell. If you don't sell with them than you have to redos the gun back to you.

How many guns and what are they? As long as you don't price them too crazy am sure they will sell in the San Diego area.

In my experience most shops ask for 20% of the selling price as their fee.

For foot traffic in San Diego I'd recommend Gunfighter Tactical or Discount Gun Mart. Royal Pawn also.

Oh cripes. I have to go through the DROS twice if they don't sell?? Do I have to pay the fee twice?

I have up to six pistols to sell, so a 20% take would be worth it to me just so I don't have to deal with buyers. It''s a mixed bag of stuff, the highlights probably being the following: Kimber Custom Series I with night sights and lots of Wilson Combat Bulletproof upgrades, stainless Ruger Mark III Target with Volquartsen comp, Springfield XD Tactical that I sent to Daniel at PRP for their combat carry package (sear, trigger, steel ejector) and night sights, S&W 617... I've got a couple more I'm thinking about selling too.

The 617 will sell super quick. My guess depending on condition and lock/no lock and barrel length is 60 0 to 800. The ruger mark 3 is easy sell. Some people like the kimbers. Good luck with sale. Yes you do have to redros back to you if you take them from consignment.

I used Chula Vista Gun Store. Check them out. I was happy with their service. Took like 3 months to sell 4 guns.

One of the things you can do is swing by the FFL see how much they will consign your firearms for and how much $$$ you can get. From there you can figure out if it's worth it to price it maybe very reasonable and you won't have too many tire kickers.

Trust me, I can understand tire kickers. Had about 5 people who agree to buy one of my firearms then people will text last min to make up an excuse. I had one guy who kept on texting me he would be at a FFL in an about an hour every few hours and never showed up.

Call gunshops within the distance you are willing to drive.

                  Ask if they do consignment.

                  Ask what the fee's are.

Then you choose which one to use.

Turner's does consignments, and gets a lot of traffic, plus they list the guns on their website so you get a lot of lookers that way too.

There are two in your area, El Cajon and San Diego.

OK, time for the Turner's haters to chime in.

Discount Gun Mart or SoCal guns.

Yes Turners for most traffic although when I have been there you do not see the consignment items really being promoted. They are off to one side of the gun counter.

Gunfighter Tactical for best shop to deal with.

Socal Guns have a good consignment selection and may have more people coming in looking for a used gun.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys! I like the Gunfighter gang a lot. Always a good experience every time I walk in. Didn't know they did consignments!
