For some reason I wasn't thinking about L10 - it makes sense to shoot wide body as it helps with reloads and 45 is not a handicap with capacity.
Shooting .45 in Limited is suboptimal as it decreases the capacity quite a bit relative to .40 and shooting Limited minor hurts the score (although I haven't confirmed this myself - at certain skill level it might be beneficial to have less recoil).sigpicNRA Benefactor MemberComment

Some folks are just die hard 45 and they say the extra .05” can mean a hit or mike. My thought, it can mean a “No Shoot” hit also. There are folks that sold their 2011/widebody upon hearing the hi-cap mag law was inevitable. I’m not tall, but I have medium size hands as my digits don’t have a problem wrapping around a Para widebody frame with regular grips. For some reason I wasn't thinking about L10 - it makes sense to shoot wide body as it helps with reloads and 45 is not a handicap with capacity.

USPSA has come a long way and I believe it’s for the growth of the sport. Production division gave way to the out of the box raceguns which was a no brainer with sponsorship pressures paving Carry Optic division. Open division is still an all out speed demon class. An Open gun chambered in 9Major is riding the red line to 165 PF. Single Stack for the classic kind of guy. Gotta love it!

I'm planning to use this to shoot steel. Trigger was really heavy ~6lbs and slide fit was tight.
I lapped the frame and slide, polished everything and tuned springs. Now it's a crisp 3lb trigger.
Shooting TCM is big fun, but I mostly run 9mm.
I'm looking for a block insert for my DAA Race Master Holster, but not sure if Para is the correct one.
I have to use factory mags which are a little pricey.

Chances are you'll have to use Dremel on an existing block, so talk to the company and see what they recommend. I had to do this to make an SP-01 block fit my TS (not sure if they by now offer the TS block). I also had to modify part of the block to clear my thumb rest.
It's a pretty neat design and you can customize it quite a bit.sigpicNRA Benefactor MemberComment

What's up with that trigger in the upper right second in? It looks like it's out so far a fat finger wouldn't fit.Comment

Rock Island 2011
I had to go the exact same route. I bought the Para which fit perfectly for the para, but not the rock island. I contacted DAA and the recommended to get the 1911 block and dremel a bit. I didn't want to mess up the fit of the para block. Now, my 1911 block fits both para and ria but has a problem with the gun rotating because of the round trigger guard. I ended up buying the extension rod and barrel pluggy thing kit from DAA and works perfectly.
Then I discovered the Safariland 014 which was a way better fit. I'm now only using the racemaster for my sti framed guns.
Save yourself the headache and go Safariland straight out the bat.Last edited by soulbyte; 05-25-2018, 7:16 PM.Comment
