Problem with Beretta 84F in DA mode

    I have new-to-me 1991 vintage 84F.
I've been getting acquainted and noticed some strange behavior.
If I use my left hand (pushing the trigger to the right), with the hammer down, the trigger acts like the safety is engaged. The hammer doesn't move.
If I use my right hand, (pushing the hammer to the left) the trigger works the hammer as one expects.
Well, almost, the hammer doesn't go as far back as it does during SA operation. It still ignites the primer though.
    Any idea what's going on?

I think the trigger bar is held tight by the grips, and it is unable to overcome the magazine disconnect due to flexing or ‘popping out’ - does it do that with the grips on?

Thanks guys. Magazine disconnect has been removed.
I figured something out. If I press down hard on the safety (when safety is off) problem goes away. It is as if the safety isn't going completely off.
I think it's time for a detail strip...

        EDIT: Figured it out:
I removed the right side safety and the problem went away.
Upon further inspection I noticed the "Trigger Release Lever" (#56) was the culprit.
I removed it and filed a few thousandths off the bottom surface where it engages the trigger bar.
        This fixed it.

Clue #1...."Thanks guys. Magazine disconnect has been removed."

          Way over-greased.

Man with rusty HB pluming tools strikes again.

Caddy-Wombist pressure on trigger...and it didn't discharge. Reads like some of the safety features are still working.

I have no idea what you're trying to say...

The Beretta isn't working properly because just maybe:

                A) An untrained person was apparently altering the firing mechanism.
                B) The pictures indicated the frame is way over-greased that maybe the reason why the pistol isn't functioning properly.
                C) If the correct amount of tension isn't applied to the trigger improperly the hammer might fall but will not ignite the primer. That is a safety feature built into the pistol by design and it's a miracle that despite some yahoo making needles and improper alterations to the pistol's firing mechanism that it still works part of the time.

                  And now it's fixed.
                  Thanks.

It's hard to keep a good pistol down. Well, not for very long anyways.
