    Good cheap 45 ammo?

Question for you folks, what 45 ammo are you using with guns you like?

Its shooting out of a usp45. So far I've been running nothing but Winchester white box ammo, FMJ, in various grains. Never ran reloads, and want to avoid doing so..

Is winchester the best for what it is, or is there something I'm missing? American Eagle maybe? Independence?

This is what I'm using now

    Advice??

You can get that ammo at Walmart for about the same price if not cheaper once you figure in shipping. Plus you get to walk right out the door with it. I had no problems with it. Seemed a little cleaner than the Independence. About on par with the Federal American Eagle.

if you shop around, you can sometimes find good deals on Blazer and Blazer Brass...

And there's always wolf, but i tend to avoid it.

My Kimbers: WalMart Winchester white box 230gr FMJ.

My Springfield GI: Wolf steel case 230gr FMJ.

All function flawlessly. Wouldn't want to shoot Wolf in my two Kimbers though (Custom Eclipse and Gold Combat).

Price/performance Winchester white box from WalMart is the best. However, if you want cleaner rounds, CCI blazer brass, American Eagle works better. I usually don't shoot more then 100rd .45 per session, so cleaning is not that much of a headache.

I load my own. Before I knew how to reload, I used to use Winchester, Fiochi or whatever was in stock at the range. My regular 1911s and HK expert ate it all up without a hitch and shot ok. With my reloads (200 grn hard cast SWC and Speer 230grn FMJ), they are still reliable and shoot way better.

When at home, I use Hornady TAP 200grn. While somewhat expensive, I get groups almost as good as my reloads.

I've bought some ammo here, before. While I havent tried it, I hear the Aguila stuff is good blasting ammo (better rep and a little cheaper than wolf).

All of your ammunition needs in one place. Our ammo includes military surplus, Hornady, Winchester as well as many other brands. We offer bulk and cheap priced ammo for your ammunition needs at Ammo To Go.

i like the miwall 230gr tmj...new, not reloaded. was pretty cheap, but it came loose-packed, so i gotta scrounge empty ammo boxes at the range. either way, it's fairly clean and shoots well.

Dunno where you are, but Sportsman's Supply in Campbell used to have sales on Magtech for $10/50, and I always had good luck with it. Aside from that, it's WWB from Walmart, or any decent brand name from the gun show that is under $11/box.

Thanks. Going to write down all the brands mentioned and start checking. Might even pick some up at the gun show next weekend

                  Thanks again

I get all my ammo over the internet. Ammoman has Speer Lawman 230 GR FMJ for $239/1000 shipped and Federal American Eagle 230 GR FMJ for $249/1000 shipped. Got my last shipment of the latter from Outdoor Marksman for $224/1000 shipped a few months back but their prices have gone up since then.

Magtech 230gr FMJ 45ACP ammo is some of the most accurate I've fired (compared to WWB and UMC yellow box).

It really does nicely in my 45ACP S&W 625 wheelgun.
