    Glock gen 3 rtf2 vs gen 4

    I had come across a video or 2 where people are saying that they are basically the same gun. I like the way a rtf gen 3 feels in my hand much better than a regular gen 3. One of the videos said that the rtf grip is narrower up top like the gen 4. Is this correct?
    Besides the double spring, grip stippling and ambi mag release, what else is different between the 2?

      Gen4 has a different RTF texture. Gen3 either has NONE or has the RTF2 which is more aggressive than the Gen4. Gen4 has a different mag release, differences in trigger, RSA, slides, frames, ambi mags, adjustable grips with different back straps including beavertails, models with the MOS optical milling for RMR's, etc... certain models that are only Gen4 like the G41 tactical practical slim slide .45 acp, G40 long slide 10mm, etc... lots of differences.

      I have three RTF2's and they feel a lot different than my Gen4's but my G17 has a beavertail on it since range day one... so do my .45's and 10's.

      Regardless, the Gen4 has been around since 2010 so search... you might find the answers. Check out Youtubes.

        I love the texture of the rtf2 on my G17 and having shot Gen 3's and 4's, I much prefer it. Definitely not carry friendly though which I believe was the main issue with it.

        RTF2 = Gen 3.5

          RTF2 is the best thing Glock has ever done.

            I'd take one of the RTF2 G17's unless I wanted to play with an RMR on a stock slide... but you can easily get a gen3 milled or use a RBU or similar. I like the Gen4 because the texture is good enough and I have MOS slides... plus I have the 41 and 40 MOS... can't get those on a OEM Gen3.

            Gen3 RTF is my favorite for A lot of things... like range and HD. Too bad there's no G19 and G26 for us. Gen4 beavertail option and larger mag release are a great IMHO.
