    back brace for glock

Im not sure what its call but the back of my glock hurts between my thumb and index finger after shooting a while. Can I put something on the back of it(back brace?) like I see on other hand guns.(XD, 1911 etc..)

The "back brace" you see on the rear of the grip on 1911 and XD's is a grip safety.

If your Glock is chewing your hand you could put on a Hogue Handall:

The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

I have the same issue with my Glock 22 and 35 - I've ordered the Hogue slip on grip and an extended beavertail (see here: http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/sto...20%20%20%20&s= ) from Brownell's. Will try them out this week and report back.

FWIW - I never had this issue shooting my 1911-framed guns, and I'm not exactly a newbie, but with the low clearance between the slide and the top of the backstrap, combined with my "fleshy" hand web, I'm getting bit after 100 rounds or so.

Also working on changing my grip a bit, FWIW.... that may also be a contributing factor for you.

Check this out. http://www.smartlock.com/products-r.htm I have not tried it because it fattens up the allready big Glock grip. It might work for you if you have big hands.

It'll toughen up. Just keep shooting you'll be fine.

Before sinking money into a hogue or similar grip, try a piece of duct tape.
It's essentially free, and it doesn't add to the grip thickness.

I have this on the butt of my G26, works like a charm.

Then your shotgun caused the problem. So why are you trying to fix your pistol?

Ahhh... that fix all stuff. I remember when I was still in the USAF and having my crew pack up a multi million dollar operation's module. We pack all the antennas in it then use a bunch of duct tape to make sure it doesn't come loose and damage some expensive radios and other equipment. We also duct tape guys during their birthdays and run them through the wash rack. Those were the fun days. I suppose duct tape on Glocks won't look tacky, lot's of pun intended. Sorry, couldn't help myself.

They make duct tape in many different colors now. The black
blends in to the glock relatively well... that is if the OP has
                            a black frame.

Same item as I posted earlier, FWIW.

The Hogue grip and Magloc comp thumb rest arrived today - unfortunately the thumb rest will not fit my Glock 35, so I could not try it out. The Hogue slip-ons do widen the grip, if you can comfortably handle the extra width then it does help stretch out the web of the hand which may prevent the 'bite' a bit.

I think a grip change is the way to go for me and that's what I've been practicing.

To those who say "toughen up" - kind of hard to do in this case (i.e. fleshy hands). It's not an issue of the slide rubbing on the hand, the edge if the slide actually cuts into the web of the hand, especially if you use the traditionally trained "hand high up into the backstrap" grip. Building up a scab or a callus won't help - I've tried through 500 rounds or so (see pic).

To OP - I'm going to return the grip and thumbrest to Brownell's tomorrow, but I'll sell at a discount to you if you want to try them out, they may fit your gun and hand...PM or Email me.
