does a gen 3 glock 19 slide work on a glock 34 frame?

    I believe i read that the G19x (military) is a 19 slide on a 17 frame.

I was wondering if i purchased a Gen 3 G19 slide would it work on my Gen 3 G34 frame?

    thanks

Prior to gen 5, the barrels on the 17 and 34 had different locking lugs than the barrels on the 19. So they were not compatible.

Even if you could find a conversion barrel (or cut down a 17 barrel to fit the 19 slide) There’s also the issue of the dust cover on the 17/34 fram sticking out past the g19 slide.

Nope. Slide lock/take down lever position is too far forward for the 19's barrel lockup action, and doesn't allow for the trigger to reset.

Tried it on my Gen 4 19 and 34, and it's just not compatible.

also, Even if you did a total Franken build, I’m still not even sure it would cycle because the longer locking lug on the 17 barrel may cause the 19 slide to not fully cycle. So it may not eject rounds or feed the next round.

You can go the other way - putting a 17 slide on a 19 frame - with a lone wolf conversion barrrel (or a gen 5 g17 barrel if you can find one)

You can however put a gen 3 Glock 17 slide (or G34 slide) on Gen 3 Glock 19 if you have Glock 19 extended barrrel and lone wolf slide adapter. In my opinion it is what Glock should have made instead of the 19X.

You may get a g19 slide with a gen 5 barrel to work. But I have no idea.

gen 5 glock 17 barrels use the same locking lug as the gen 1-4 g19. so you could put a gen 3 17 slide on a gen 3 19 frame using a gen 5 g17 barrel (making a long slide G19)

but the opposite is not true - you cannot put a gen 3 19 slide on a gen 3 17 frame using a gen 5 19 barrel, as the locking lug on the 19 barrel is not compatible with the locking block on the gen 3 17 frame.
