    Building railed 1911

Is it possible to fit a springfield milspec slide to an 80% railed 1911 frame?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm not very enlightened on this topic.
    Also not a legal question.

Not an answer, but would love to see the results! The one cosmetic thing about the TRP and the railed TRP is the serrations on the slide. If I could, I would get the combo you're talking about-an Operator frame along with a mil-spec slide.

The Springfield Professional half-rail almost gets there, but I don't like the large serrations as much as I do the finer serrations (like on a mil-spec or a Les Baer).

Yes 100% possible. You know you can get the same results through Caspian or Fusion slides though, right?

Again, as simple as purchasing a caspian slide

Not really because my frame doesnt have a rail.
But would a milspec slide require a series 70 or 80 frame?

I’m confused by your question.. your first post says you have a railed 80% and now you’re saying it doesn’t have a rail? Milspec needs to be series 70.

          Let’s clear this up.
          1) Are you referring to picattany accessory rail on the dust cover?
          2) Or slide rails?

An 80% 1911 frame requires you to cut the slide rails. While cutting slide rails, you can virtually fit just about any slide

            I have a springfield milspec.
I want to get an 80% frame with an accessory rail and mate the slide from the milspec.

If you have to ask the question then I would doubt your ability to do it

To answer your question, yes it is possible and is commonly done with many different brands.

Just have to measure, measure and measure again. Than cut. Different slides have slight specs.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

The frame is what usually gets fitted to the slide so an oversized new frame or an 80% frame are the best candidates.

However, the job will be more difficult if you also want the barrel that is fitted to your milspec to come over to the new frame with the slide.

Or you could buy a Recover Tactical rail for your rail-less 1911.
