Help with Law question for Cal.

I have a Spikes lower and it has markings of 223, 5.56 and I want to put it on a .50 Beowulf upper. Now is this legal or not? I'm not sure about the change of the cal. stating one cal. but being another..... So if any one can help me out.

Yes I know that they are milspec. Thank you.
You don't want to die with a sissy gun, YOU want to die with a manly gun. AR15 .50 cal. Beowulf.

    100% legal.

The caliber markings have no force of law - you can use any off list AR lower with any caliber upper, other than .50 BMG .
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.
