    Hey calgunners,

    I am just new to all this gun stuff, just wondering if anybody knows how much a 5 inch blue Colt Python is worth; think about 95-99 percent has far has grade....

    I would guess probably somewhere around $1000, give or take depending on year, grips, condition, etc. I've seen some really nice ones go for a lot more though. Pics would help a lot.

    If you are thinking of buying one, the Python's the Cadillac of .357s. Great gun, and they aren't making more of them.

      Welcome to C.G.! First of all their is no such thing as a 5'' python. Their was 2 1/2"(rare), 3" (very rare), 4"(most common), 6"(my personal favorite), and an 8". Measure from the forcing cone (part of barrel that faces cylinder) to the muzzle, you most likely have a 6" gun. In the condition you describe it is worth between $900 and $1200 depending on where you are located. Like vacaville said the python is THE d/a revolver to own.
