CZ75 SP-01 modifications?

Could you explain what you polished? Maybe post some pictures? Also what did you use to polish the parts?

I pretty much polished everything, anywhere metal came in contact with metal including inside the frame. I used a dremel with a felt wheel and mothers polish. Also 1000 grit sandpaper where i couldnt reach with a dremel.

I think the most important spots to polish are the sear and hammer just make sure you dont change the geometry which is pretty impossible to do if all you use is the felt wheel.

The SP01 is extremely rough inside, its actually quite atrocious.

You will have to use a slave pin to reassemble the trigger. Its easy to make one out of a nail.

In retrospect all you really need to do to improve the trigger pull is replace the hammer, sear and hammer spring. Polishing didnt really make that much of a difference. The stock hammer and sear have a very large engagement surface which feels really long and gritty even after extensive polishing. A CJW race hammer and adjustable sear greatly reduces the engagement surface so that is pretty much all you need to do to greatly improve the trigger in a CZ.

Lots of good information here. Looks like I need to get some felt wheels some metal polishing compound and some roll pin punches. Think I will start with that and see what happens. After that I will see if I need to replace springs or other parts, like the SRS-1 Short Reset System, which really seems intriguing but I want to get parts cleaned up and polished and running really smooth.

The only specialty tool that I noticed that I need is a 3mm or 1/8” roll pin punch? Is that correct or do I need anything else?

So this is all I really need, plus a soft blow hammer? and I thought I would need an entire roll pin punch set or something.

You definitely want that starter punch! And might as well grab some roll pin punches for the tool box. They come in handy all the time! Should be a staple of every mans tool box...

How many of you installed a 10x bushing from CGW, if so did you feel it made a difference?

I installed the tight bushing on two pistols. A 40 cal B SA and a SP 01 9 mm. Both went in with no problems. Both had improved accuracy, especially the 40. On the 9, the barrel will go in and out of the slide with just a bit of wiggle. The 40 is much tighter because of the heavier chamber block width. To get the 40 barrel in and out, I must push in the extractor to move the claw away from the barrel. Then it will allow enough room for the barrel to come in and out with ease.

I took my SP01 completely apart and polished the internals to try and make the trigger smoother. Its a little bit better. I replaced the hammer spring with a reduced power from CJW as well. After completely disassembling it and ressembling it, I really do not see why anyone sends their gun in to CJW for work. The design is very easy to disassemble and reassemble yourself with minimal tools. The next thing I will do to it is replace the hammer with a race hammer and possibly the trigger with a stainless version.

Some of us have old eyes and poor fine motor skills.

I sent my P01 to CGW and I am happy with the work they did. The labor for installing their package was only about $80 and I didn't have to spend a half and hour looking for a spring or other tiny part on the floor. I will be sending my SP-01 to them as well.

Is it worth spending more on the CGW SRS-2 kit over the SRS-1 kit? Is it better to get the SRS-2 kit with the addition competition spring?
