    SW1911PD Cleaning issue

I can't get the slide stop pin to come out. Anyone have any experience with getting one of these to come out? i am pushing it as hard as possible but it doesn't seem to want to come out.
This is my first time taking the gun apart to clean.

Sometimes they can be a bit stiff, especially on new guns. If pushing with your finger isn't working, try using the back of your magazine to push with.

Push it out with a screwdriver handle.

They can be a PITA to remove.

Use the screwdriver handle to make the slide stop peek out on the left side enough so you can wiggle it up and down while pulling it out

won't do it. only comes out enough to get my finger nail under it but it won't come out and it won't wiggle.

You are aligning the slide stop with the correct notch? Try putting lube into the right side of the slide stop (the button side) and wiggle it to let as much lube fall into the gun as possible. Then push up a little to get the slide stop to protrude out as much as you can, and if its still not going, put some more lube underneath the slide stop and try to get some into the hole. Push the slide stop back in, move the slide stop up and down a few times and try it again.

yeah the second notch the bigger one of the two.
Is it supposed to just pop out or what?

Are you sure it's the bigger notch of the two? It's usually the smaller of the two on the slide. Lock your slide back, there should be a smaller notch to the right of the notch your slide lock is currently pushed up into, that's the one you should be trying to push through. It sounds like you're doing it wrong if you're trying to push through the bigger of the two notches on the slide.

Here's a link from google images, just to make sure we're pushing through the right hole before hitting your gun with tools.

i've given up, not in the mood. i put it back together but i was trying it in the bigger notch cause thats what my instructions told me to do it in that came with the gun. i will try it in the smaller notch tomorrow or something.

If you are looking at the side of the gun, you should be lining the slide stop up with the notch furthest to the right. In other words, the stop that is closest to the hammer. This is usally the smaller notch.
