Trusty Taurus PT 92 AF update

After years of languishing in my locker, I decided to give my Taurus PT 92 AF a rail update. I really like this solution by TRGear. There might be better out there, but I liked the way this one went on without glue or much fuss. Now to find some light/laser stuff to hang off that rail. Any recommendations?

Ugly, and I bet it limits our holster options to none!

I had a Taurus PT 92 and it was a very reliable pistol and accurate enough for defense. What else can I ask for? I could never get used to the grip. It’s a Beretta 92 clone but it doesn’t have the same grip.

I like it ! Will check into TRGear and see if they have a inox finish or can have it refinished in inox. Thanks OP

That frame/grip angle looks just like the 92FS to me. Never shot one but was thinking about getting one. Have a older 92FS Brigadier all inox. Can not get myself to do a MosinVirus grip renovation on it. Have lost alot of padding on my palm and the Vertec grip is the only way for me. Have two and love them but want to keep as stock looking as possible.

Does the grip have the same amount of metal to be able to shave down to Vertec type grip? 92FS vs PT92

If it all works out on PT92 then I will do it to my Brigadier...grip and rail..Super Ugly but I will use it with a smile

Wow you holster a rail gun with a tac light?
My idea would be to have a Guide Rod Tac Light.
Laser pointers are fine but would rather have light so I can see what I am aiming at.

Hmm. I guess Ugly is in the eye of the beholder. I kind'a like it. As for a holster, trust me: this is not the kind of gun you want to carry.

Actually there is at least one rod out there for the Beretta/Taurus 92 models that packs a laser [see YouTube examples]. I looked into it and panicked when I saw how much [dis]assembly was required. Plus I wanted a light too. Found a cheapo light+laser unit on the 'Zon, so I'll slap that on the rail and give it a go.

You’ll have to do a side by side comparison.

Yeah. As I'm sure you know, these PT92s were made in Beretta's Brazilian factory that they sold to Taurus back when. I remember going to the store and trying both, and, unable to tell the difference, went for the Taurus at the much better price. Never regretted it. It's a great, reliable gun. Those grips are after-market replacements -- I didn't care for the wood ones it came with, kind'a slippery.

Oooh. You have exhausted the limit of my expertise there. My guess would be to say yes, since, again, this Taurus is a carbon copy of its contemporary Beretta cousin.
