1911 vs. HK USP .45

I love a well tuned 1911 for competition but out of the box they just can't touch the HK. I have over 100k rounds through mine with nothing done to it besides a spring replacement. I highly doubt anyone with a 1911 can say they have that many rounds with nearly no maintenance.

Like any other poll, answer is 'it depends'. Start by figuring out which fits your hand better. Second, have you shot either? Third, which gave you better accuracy?Originally posted by tonyayoWell guys - what do you think is a superior weapon?
You don't need a poll...my opinion means zilch, you're the shooter

USP for sure. As mentioned, the "out of the box" accuracy and reliability of the USP is something that you can't count on with a 1911.
The USP has higher capacity double stack magzines and will shoot whatever ammo you want without any tuning or modifications. I have two 1911's, and both of them are picky with hollow points and reloads. Both of them will need work before I can confidently carry them.
You can always get a 1911 to run well, but you just won't have to worry about that with the USP.Comment

Yea, those tests are all good and fine but let's talk real life here. I have over 100k on mine and the only failures have been ammo related because I load some of my ammo to fail to help with clearance drills.

Have a Hk USPF 45 and I plan to keep it forever....Comment

I hated my USPF .45. Grips sucked, the slide was like looking down a brick, it was way too expensive for the end result and over all it was just too bulky.
I sold mine and took a big loss.
Looked cool though

I agree 100% with anotherted. I almost made the same mistake. Had one on layaway, but I was able to borrow a friend's USP in time. Only lost a $25 restocking fee.
Definitely looks cool. Definitely in my top 5, for "overhyped guns you hate"sigpicOriginally posted by victor1echoHollywood is satan!!!!Comment

Should have put this in the earlier post
